With so many camera (and video) enabled mobile devices on the market there can never be enough tools to facilitate sharing your experiences. Seero is just such a tool wnabling users to not only share their videos but they can also geo-tag them and provide a new way for users to "see the World". Thanks once again to Frank of Google Earth Blog for a tip on this app!
What is it? Seero.com is a geo-broadcasting platform for users to broadcast and experience destinations around the world. Seero fuses live and on-demand video with GPS mapping to create a rich and unique user experience. Our goal is to shake the foundations of how you see video with a platform that promotes exploration and geographical awareness.
If you're looking for another typical video site, or 'Television Online', this probably isn't the place for you. If you want to experience a new way to see the world, welcome. Seero utilizes the vast potential of the internet to create an original brand of content. If you are a citizen journalist, local tour guide, back road explorer, talented performer, or simply have a great destination to unveil, Seero is your platform to broadcast your world.
How it works... The site serves geo-tagged advertisements and facts based on their proximity to each broadcast. Dan Rummel, a Founder and Chief Technology Officer for Seero, foreshadowed the business model, "We are trying to create a great way to advertise alongside video content- which most services haven't figured out yet. Most sites serve an ad based on how a video is tagged, 'funny' for example. Funny to one person may be boring to another though. We serve ads based on location, which is objective. If you are watching a video shot in Union Square we are serving ads for nearby businesses in Union Square." (Source: Seero PR, Feb 5, 2008)
For Google Earth fans, users can easily share their vids via KML feeds... Seero KML feeds are formatted like this: "http://kml.seero.com/userkml/Username.kml", just replace 'Username' with your Seero username. Google Maps hackers should also be able to easily incorporate their video clips into mashups (Familiarity with API required). Check out the Seero Live KML layer at http://www.seero.com/kml/seero_live.kml
Broadcast live video and archive it for on-demand playback. Track GPS position in real-time and archive a course for playback with video. Explore the world and discover video through an innovative geo-navigational interface. Geo-tag your video clips to showcase the destinations where they take place. Experience location specific factoids and feeds with a video broadcast.
