No-Cost ESRI Web Seminar for Managers Explains the Benefits, from Saving Time and Money to Improving Customer Service
Redlands, California—ESRI invites executives, managers, and other decision makers to tune in to an online seminar this month and learn about the bottom-line business advantages of adopting a geographic information system (GIS) solution.
GIS for Managers will air on ESRI's Training and Education Web site at www.esri.com/lts on May 29, 2008, at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. (Pacific daylight time).
The seminar will be an excellent opportunity for decision makers in business, government, education, and nonprofit groups to familiarize themselves with basic GIS concepts and applications and learn about the vast business value of the technology.
GIS can sometimes be underutilized with only one or two departments in an organization using it. But by incorporating GIS into the organization's existing IT infrastructure, multiple departments can conduct geospatial analysis or share vital information. In short, departments can leverage each other's expertise, leading to increased performance metrics, better informed decisions, and an optimal return on investment.
Simon Thompson, director of commercial industry marketing for ESRI, and Christopher Thomas, director of government industry marketing for ESRI, will talk about the benefits that can be reaped by integrating GIS throughout multiple departments or an entire organization.
Thompson and Thomas will present case studies from government agencies and private businesses that have adopted the technology enterprise-wide and discuss those organizations' success. GIS produced measurable results, increasing productivity, accuracy, and communication; generating more revenue; improving customer service; and leading to better resource management.
A broadband Internet connection and an ESRI Global Account are needed to watch the seminar. Creating a global account is easy and free: visit www.esri.com/lts, click Login, and register your name and address. A few weeks after the live presentation, the seminar will be archived and available for viewing on the ESRI Training and Education Web site.
