Cityworks, ArcGIS, and RIVA Online Work Together to Create Strategic Priorities
Sandy, UT — Azteca Systems, Inc., the leading provider of GIS-centric management solutions, announced today that Waterford Township, Michigan, is integrating Cityworks and RIVA Online software applications to enhance the scheduling and future planning capabilities of their organization.
With 355 miles of sanitary sewer, 2 jetting crews, and a large amount of pipe needing to be cleaned as many as three times per year, Waterford Township sought to create a prioritized plan to jet every length of sanitary main over a three-year period and establish a regular schedule for the problem mains. To complete the task, the Township established a pilot area to confirm Cityworks and RIVA Online, within ESRI’s ArcGIS platform, could work together to create these strategic plans. Maintenance history from Cityworks was used with geospatial data in ESRI’s ArcGIS application to prioritize the mains. RIVA Online was then used to create a monthly schedule for the three-year cycle. As a result of the successful integration, further strategic planning for the organization is anticipated utilizing the three applications to manage entire asset hierarchies.
"The integration of RIVA and Cityworks represents a new level of management capability,” states Terry Biederman, Director of Public Works at Waterford Township. “The data from an integrated GIS/CMMS is directly utilized to develop highly efficient and cost effective capital improvement and operational programs."
“The integration of applications, such as these, illustrates an excellent example of the open, flexible nature of Cityworks and other GIS-centric applications,” states Brian Haslam, President of Azteca Systems. “Building on the strengths of these best-of-breed software applications, users are able to easily complete tasks and effectively achieve accurate results. This represents another example of how business and spatial data can be joined to provide meaningful information.”
