NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge Americas Awards Ceremony Will Be Webcast Live

Chicago, IL- March 31, 2008 – NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions (LBS), will broadcast the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge – Americas Awards Ceremony live during CTIA WIRELESS on the Global LBS Challenge website (www.LBSChallenge.com) on April 2, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. PST (6:00 p.m. EST). NAVTEQ will announce one Grand Prize Winner and three Runners-up from a field of 15 semifinalists.
All CTIA WIRELESS attendees are invited to attend the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall Meeting Room N258.
The annual Global LBS Challenge invites developers to build location-enabled applications that work with mobile phones and/or wireless handheld devices using dynamic positioning technology and NAVTEQ® map data. Participants compete for a global prize pool of cash, licenses and services from NAVTEQ and sponsors of the event, with this year’s prize pool the largest to date, valued at over $4.5 million (US).
Developers are offered five categories in which to submit their applications: Content, Enterprise, Entertainment, Navigation and Social Networking. Contestants are judged by an elite panel of judges comprised of major wireless carriers, industry experts and venture capitalists. The Global LBS Challenge has expanded to three regions: EMEA, Americas and Asia-Pacific (APAC). Winners of the APAC region will be announced during CommunicAsia in Singapore on June 18, 2008. Winners of the EMEA region were announced in February in Barcelona and may be viewed at www.LBSChallenge.com.
