Montreal, QC - Gastem, an independent oil and gas exploration company based in Montreal, Quebec, has selected ESRI Canada's geographic information systems (GIS) solutions to enhance and expand their current geospatial data analysis and charting procedures.
"We are very pleased that Gastem has chosen ESRI Canada's solutions," said Alain Dombrowski, Regional Manager Quebec Region, ESRI Canada. "We look forward to working with them successfully implement the solution, and helping them become leaders in leveraging the technology."
Hydrocarbon exploration requires the analysis and manipulation of various types of data including seismic profiles, satellite and digital images, surface geology and topography, subsurface and cross section interpretations, well data, and existing infrastructure information. GIS provides the tools to tie these datasets together, overlay, view, manipulate, and analyze the data geographically. Using ESRI Canada's GIS solution will allow Gastem to better understand certain geographic, infrastructure, business conditions, and environmental factors about the area in question.
"As a Junior Oil and Gas exploration company we have grown rapidly into a significant player in Appalachian hydrocarbon exploration," said Geraint Lloyd, Vice President Exploration, Gastem. "ESRI's GIS solutions will enable us to overhaul our current geospatial analysis capacity, through the application of cutting edge technology."
