The use of geo-information in agriculture is increasing rapidly. Agriculture is an important market for satellite navigation, remote sensing and mapping applications. Especially in the policy domain new applications emerge rapidly. CAPIGI’08 brings together governments, industry and research to present and discuss current and future applications of geo-informatics in the agricultural domain.
CAPIGI’08 brings experiences and outlooks on the increasing interest of geo-information and its impact in the agricultural sector. Farm practice is changing under new precision agriculture systems using new geo-information. And governments are changing the way they deal with data collection and data sharing, for instance under the INSPIRE directive.
