Global Mapper 9.01 released - export ANY loaded data for use with Google Maps
Written by Global Mapper
01 December 2007
There have been over 100 numerous improvements and tweaks to the program. But among all the changes, the most significant is the ability to export ANY loaded data for use with Google Maps (not just Google earth).
In addition, a HTML file is created allowing you to instantly view the exported data with any standard internet browser! All you need to do is provide the API key (which is given for free from Google.com)
I am working on a video tutorial that will show you just how easy and neat this new amazing feature is. Please check back shortly. I should have this done by the end of the week. Also significant in this release:
* Made significant improvements to the triangulation and gridding of 3D point, line, and area data. This includes speeding it up, increasing the maximum number of points that can be gridded, and supporting constraints. * Added support for loading RIK (Swedish Topo), OCAD, and MapTech PCX chart format files.
YOU the reader and user of Global Mapper Forum should be very personally proud about these new features and enhancements. Why? because almost all of these features came about as a result of your requests and suggestions! So as a user of Global Mapper Forum you receive a 1) 10 % discount on the software 2) outstanding customer support (thanks Mike!) and 3) the opportunity to directly influence the product!
For a list of other Global Mapper 9.01 features please read the release notes here.
This release is FREE for current Global Mapper 9 users. Just download the new program and it will automatically upgrade your existing installation. If you are new to Global Mapper this release is available for only $269 if you register in the forum and if you are upgrading from Global Mapper 8 you can do so for only $89.
