Integrates USGS Topographic Maps, Street Overlays and Google Earth
Maptech (Amesbury, Mass) – Maps and mapping tools are ubiquitous. It's as if we cannot get enough of them. Witness the competition for online free maps! Although these free maps are fun to look at, professionals need a lot more utility and better quality data than what free maps offer. Maptech Terrain Navigator Pro is a time-tested and popular mapping source for professionals working in land surveying, real estate, firefighting, search and rescue, forestry management, and off-road exploration.
TNP 8.0 & 1-Meter Color, Aerial Photos: The new TNP 8.0 adds 1-meter color aerial photos (DOQQ – Digital Ortho Quarter Quads) from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP)—2003-2007 data. Currency is critical. NAIP is noted for its timeliness and excellent image quality.
TNP 8.0 & USGS Topos: TNP also includes high quality United States Geological Survey topographic maps at 1:24,000 and 1:100,000 map scales. Though topographic maps can be several years old, with TNP 8.0 you can easily update and create a revised map by comparing it to the 1-meter aerial photos. Seeing topographic maps side-by-side with aerial photos offers professionals a visually enriched and integrated map. The optional “U.S. Streets Module” overlays streets on both topos and aerials for detailed directions to off-road sites. See examples at www.maptech.com.
Google Earth & TNP 8.0: Google Earth does not have detailed topographic maps. TNP users can easily customize a topo map, click a Google icon and automatically see the exact location displayed on a Google Earth image. Add routes, tracks, marks in TNP and see them on the Google image. The advantage is that now the Google Earth image is controlled by Maptech’s advanced mapping software. See examples at www.maptech.com.
TNP 8.0 --- Additional Highlights & New Features: • Township & Range: TNP 8.0 displays TSR grids on topographic maps and aerial photos. • Overlay "U.S. Streets Module" on topo maps and aerial photos: $149.95 nationwide add-on. The ability to overlay streets and routes on topos and aerial photos lets the user create updated maps and photos with current street data—a feature not found in other street-based and topographic programs. • Touch Screen Friendly: The mouse swap button lets you interact with the TNP and map data either using the mouse or by moving your finger on a touch screen computer display. • Print Overlays: Overlays on topo maps and aerial photos can be previewed in the print window. • TNP 8.0 Tour: See how the program works and major features in action at www.maptech.com. • Download TNP: full-features, free topo map with 1-meter aerial photo at www.maptech.com. • ESRI ArcGIS users can use the Maptech map formats natively. • Photo Image: http://www.maptech.com/pr/doc.cfm?docid=543
System Requirements: Windows XP or Vista, DVD Drive, 1 GB Hard Disk space. High Color/True Color Video Display, mouse or equivalent pointing device. Internet access required to access aerial photos. Single and multi-seat licenses are available.
Sales Contact: Terrain Navigator Pro 8.0 is available for every state except Hawaii with a MSRP of $299.95 per state/region. For more information call 888-839-5551 or visit Maptech at www.maptech.com.
