US Federal Government Agency, USAID, Purchases Columbus GIS Tool

LAS VEGAS, Oct 29, 2007 -- Columbus Geographic Systems (GIS) Ltd. ("Columbus") (symbol: CGSE.PK) today announced that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has purchased Columbus' SmartView to meet their needs for advanced geographic information system (GIS) capabilities.
USAID is the principal U.S. agency extending assistance to countries recovering from disaster, trying to escape poverty, and engaging in democratic reforms. USAID currently provides economic and humanitarian assistance in more than 100 countries. SmartView will give the agency critical capabilities for a range of advanced GIS analysis of agricultural land and more efficient management of tenders for land distribution projects.
SmartView is a powerful geographical data management software, designed for ease-of-use with maps in a wide range of formats and scales. The software enables users to quickly locate and map points of interest for further analysis, and easily integrates with database-layered maps and geographic elements. Columbus will supply the software as well as provide training to USAID personal to ensure successful implementation.
Columbus CEO Tsvika Freidman commented, "We are very excited that such an important federal government agency as USAID has purchased our product. We know that USAID did extensive research on available products on the market, and finally selected SmartView because it offers an optimal GIS solution. We hope to sell USAID additional solutions for managing coffee and vegetable growing".
