Redlands, California—The signing of a master development agreement between geographic information system (GIS) leader ESRI and systems integrator Harris Corporation (HRS) provides a company-wide mechanism for Harris to leverage ESRI software for marketing and development purposes.
Harris is an international communications and information technology company serving government and commercial markets in more than 150 countries.
As Harris continues to broaden its areas of expertise within the public and private sectors, including the Department of Defense, intelligence communities, and various international markets, the opportunity to embed ESRI's GIS technology within Harris' custom integrated solutions will provide the company with a unique differentiator within the systems integrator community.
According to Rick Ayers, ESRI's manager for federal partner business development, the agreement "formalizes the valued relationship that we've had with Harris for more than 10 years and provides Harris with an open and flexible contract vehicle to leverage the world's leading GIS technology. We are very excited about the broader adoption of ESRI GIS technology within Harris Corporation."
The agreement provides Harris the right to sublicense ESRI technology in support of its development and integration of enterprise solutions to its customers.
