Gatineau, Québec, Oct 5, 2007– CubeWerx, a leading provider of spatial data warehousing and OGC compliant web services software products, today announced that it has implemented direct support for Google Earth in its Web Map Server product, CubeSERV-WMS.
This new functionality will allow users of CubeWerx' map servers and Google Earth to:
* Query the capabilities of the map server, and automatically produce a "tree view" layer selection interface in Google Earth, complete with themes and selectable styles for individual map layers
* Generate dynamic, scale-dependent map legends as transparent overlays in Google Earth
* Retrieve and visualize feature meta-data
Because of its ability to "cascade" other map servers, this technology will also allow users of CubeWerx' product to access any other OGC-compliant WMS through Google Earth, regardless of limitations in the capabilities of the remote map server.
“CubeWerx recognizes the wide appeal that Google's mapping tools hold for our clients and we wish to provide the best possible user experience", said Mr. Edric Keighan, president and CEO for CubeWerx. "This new technology opens up the world of OGC Web Map services to everyday Google Earth users, and we are very excited about its potential."
