Pictometry to Demonstrate Advanced GIS Solutions at the 2007 ESRI International User Conference E-mail
Written by Glenn Letham (GISuser editor)
15 June 2007
ROCHESTER, NY - June 15, 2007 - Pictometry International Corp., the worldwide leader in digital, aerial oblique imagery and easy-to-use measuring software systems, today announced that it will be demonstrating a number of advanced GIS solutions at the 2007 ESRI International User Conference in San Diego, CA from June 18-22, 2007.

Pictometry will be in booth number 1821.

Over 400 counties utilize Pictometry in applications such as GIS, public safety, economic planning, and assessment. The company has aerially photographed approximately 65% of the developed US population centers in digital, georeferenced oblique format. These include the top 100 most populated metropolitan areas such as Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington, DC.

Pictometry has established the most experienced research and development capabilities in the field of oblique aerial imaging technology in the world. The company currently has 17 patents in process, has the ability to process over 500,000 images per day, and its digital camera calibration technology was adopted and licensed by the United States Geological Survey. Pictometry has established technical and business relationships with approximately 100 leading companies that provide Pictometry-enabled solutions for appraisal, GIS, and 9-1-1. In addition, Pictometry is taking this technology worldwide through its international business partnerships in North America, Europe, and Australia.

Advanced GIS solutions that Pictometry will be demonstrating at the 2007 ESRI International User Conference include:
-- Eco-View - an easy-to-use infrared software solution built-in to Pictometry's world class software that enables end users to perform near-infrared analysis
-- ArcGIS Desktop Extension
-- ArcGIS Explorer integration
-- ArcGIS Server integration
-- ArcIMS deployment
-- Image Navigator for web deployment
-- Pictometry 3D modeling solutions
-- AVL Solution
-- Pictometry embedded solutions, including Active X
-- Rapid Response - georeferenced oblique aerial imaging capabilities for post-disaster imaging
-- Touch screen software interface
-- ChangeFindr(tm) - a powerful software solution that combines Hitachi
HouseDiff(r) change detection service with Pictometry Change Analysis software enabling GIS professionals to more easily compare changes in land and property features between existing county aerial photos and new imagery of the same area

Pictometry's technology has found significant acceptance in vital applications such as:
-- Expanding usage of existing Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
-- Enabling government real property professionals to generate Return-On-Investment (ROI) from their Pictometry system
-- Saving time and reducing costs in community planning and development efforts
-- Helping 9-1-1 centers rapidly locate calls for service, especially with cellular calls
-- Providing SWAT teams and fire fighters with touch screen software in mobile deployments for en route and on the scene tactical planning
-- Enhanced decision support for insurance, real estate, and utilities

The company recently announced that it had taken over 22 million unique aerial images in the first five months of this year and as the third fastest growing privately held corporation in greater Monroe County, NY, it has recently invested over $10 million dollars in its core infrastructure and expansion plans.
