New solution provides targeted, reliable and cost-effective approach to address critical needs nationwide
Atlanta, Ga. – June 5, 2007 – AirSage, the leading provider of real-time traffic solutions, announced today the release of TrafficWiSE™, a suite of solutions designed to meet the specific traffic information needs for a variety of public and private sector organizations.
All solutions utilize the AirSage Wireless Signal Extraction, or WiSE™, technology. The WiSE™ technology is a software-based solution for traffic information. Unlike historical or predictive approaches, which rely on small sample sizes and data from earlier travel time periods, this software extracts and aggregates anonymous wireless network data to provide true real-time traffic information.
“TrafficWiSE™ solutions draw on the signaling data from more than 51 million cell phones, allowing us to provide specific real-time traffic information to a broad cross-section of customers affected by traffic flow, incidents and congestion,” said Cy Smith, founder and CEO of AirSage. “This technology is unique in the industry and allows AirSage to provide more accurate and reliable traffic data than any other solution on the market today.”
TrafficWiSE™ solutions are designed to meet the specific needs of a variety of government and industry markets. The TrafficWiSE™ suite includes:
TrafficWiSE™ Work Zone - improves safety and reduces work zone impact; TrafficWiSE™ Transportation Planning - determines traffic flow between defined areas; TrafficWiSE™ Special Events - aids in traffic management for large events; TrafficWiSE™ Evacuation and Emergency Management - ensures efficient evacuation of the public and ingress of emergency personnel; TrafficWiSE™ Evacuation and Emergency Planning - provides historical traffic data for improved planning; and TrafficWiSE™ Alternative Routes - provides travel times for alternative routes, reducing driving time and mitigating congestion.
Through its partnership with Sprint, AirSage is able to access the anonymous signaling data from the mobile network. AirSage then uses the anonymous data and transforms it into real-time traffic data. With more than 51 million subscribers in the network, AirSage has more than enough data to accurately provide traffic flow information. No other traffic monitoring system has such an extensive and reliable network.
AirSage WiSE™ technology has been successfully deployed in more than 26 markets around the United States, including New York, California, Virginia, Wisconsin and Georgia.
