MELBOURNE, Fla., May 3, 2007 -- Online registration for MILCOM 2007, the world's premier military communications conference, has been officially opened.
Co-sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Communications Society, the annual defense communications forum will take place October 29-31 in Orlando, Florida at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center. Annual attendance has grown to more than 4,000. The theme for this year's conference is "Interoperability: Policy to Performance." Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) is serving as the industry host for this year's event.

The MILCOM 2007 program will feature unclassified and classified technical sessions. Topics will cover communications and information technologies and capabilities that address 21st Century communications challenges related to national defense, homeland security, disaster response and interoperability.
Confirmed speakers for the conference include the Honorable John Grimes, assistant secretary of defense for networks and information integration, and chief information officer, U.S. Department of Defense; the Honorable Dale Meyerrose, chief information officer, Director National Intelligence; U.S. Army Lieutenant General Keith Alexander, director of the National Security Agency; and U.S. Army Major General Jeffrey Sorenson, Office of the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO/G-6 Select).
Confirmed moderators and panelists include U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Charles Croom, Jr., director of the Defense Information Systems Agency; U.S. Army Lieutenant General John Wood, deputy commander, Joint Forces Command; U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Mike Peterson, chief of Warfighting Integration, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force; U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Nancy Brown, director of Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems (J-6), Joint Chiefs of Staff; Mr. Peter Verga, acting assistant secretary of defense for Homeland Defense and Americas' Security Affairs, Office of the Secretary of Defense; and many other general officers and senior executive service members.
