Aurora, Colo., March 13, 2007—The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announced that the Call for Papers deadline for its 16 th Annual GIS for Oil & Gas Conference is April 9, 2007. The conference is set for Sept. 17-19, 2007, in Houston, Texas.
With the theme Houston, We Have a Geospatial Solution, the 2007 GIS for Oil & Gas Conference will focus on the practice of learning from the successes and mistakes of industry peers. The conference is the largest event of its kind, and has seen record attendance for the past four years with more than 550 attendees in 2003 and 668 attendees at the 2006 event.
“In the spirit of keeping things fresh year after year, we’ve completely redesigned the structure of our Call for Papers. We’ve cut nine specific topics down to five broad areas, and each area has a wide variety of directions it can take,” said Conference Chair Dwayne Cobbs, Panhandle Energy.
The broader topics of the Call for Papers are designed to let presenters customize their papers even more than before. The five topics are:
