SAN ANTONIO-- Today, Apex Software announced the availability of its version 4.0 industry leading desktop floor plan software, Apex Medina™, to its more than 130,000 customers.
The Medina generation of Apex represents a revolutionary leap in technology. Adding to and going beyond traditional sketching while smartly designing with Vista™ in mind.

“Our goal when we brain-stormed for the new version was finding a way to accommodate customer requests for new features while simplifying use. That’s a difficult job with a software brand that’s almost 20 years old,” remarked Smoote. “But we did that and more. And we drastically reduced our prices.”
Apex understands that time is critical and, so, designed Medina to enable users to create higher quality sketches in less time. Medina offers a cleaner interface, easier usability and 50+ enhancements and features, several of which have been described as revolutionary. Some new features include open integration, universally simplified UI, a vastly improved output, turn-key registration, Image Overlays and Drag and Drop objects.
Medina also contains foundational support for the implementation of features and products scheduled for release early next year, like 3D Perimeter Generation, GIS Ties, GIS Referencing and seamless integration with Apex Nexus, field data and sketching software for mobile Tablet PC’s and UMPC’s.
To better serve their clients and decrease pricing, Apex Software will be selling Medina directly to customers. Its first tiered level includes a discounted 1-2 user license at an introductory price of $149. The two licenses cost less than what one license was prior to Medina.
“Reducing prices for our customers was important to us. While other software companies are trending higher while offering less, we’ve moved in the opposite direction,” Smoote said. “It’s not just about Medina’s improvements and its reduced price, however. We’ve ramped up our service to support it and our other products.”
Part of the ramp up Smoote describes is a recent tripling of size in their customer service department, expansion of the Apex Continuation Education Seminars program, and the recent introduction of training through online Webinars.
