Geomatics Professor Anthony M. Bonnici Joins Pacific Alliance Technologies

Vancouver, BC – November 7, 2006 – Pacific Alliance is excited to announce that Anthony M. Bonnici (B.Sc. Comp. Sci.) joined Pacific Alliance Technologies fulltime as a Principal Technical Consultant today.
With more than 20 years practical experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) and Asset Management, Anthony adds senior application, programming and domain knowledge to the team.
As a Geomatics Professor at Sir Sandford Fleming College Anthony designed, developed, and delivered courses on project planning and management, municipal GIS, database design and development, problem solving, web programming, and web GIS development. He wrote and self-published the “Mapping with MicroStation” series of five books and authored many technical articles on GIS and programming. In addition, having worked as an independent consultant for most of his career, Anthony accumulated extensive experience in the Municipal Domain, particularly with project work as at the City of Peterborough, Ontario, and County of Haliburton, Ontario. While at Sir Sandford Fleming he trained many of our GIS colleagues and now we are excited to have him applying his industry leading knowledge of GIS, Asset Management and web mapping on the west coast". With his substantial experience in Asset Management, Anthony will be focused in this area to assist in the Business Analysis and delivery of Asset Management Systems for compliance with the new PS3150 regulations. He will also leverage his extensive background in the Open Source web-mapping software to Pacific Alliance’s initiatives with Autodesk MapGuide®. Anthony will be based in Pacific Alliance’s Vancouver office and work for various clients in Western Canada.
