Montana Natural Resource Information System (NRIS) Posted on February 23, 2005 A gateway to geospatial information and data for the Sate of
Montana. Most recently they have released high-resolution (1 foot pixel)
natural-color aerial photos for several areas and 14 additional areas will be
made available later in 2005. The Homeland Security GIS Task force has funded
this project.

Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA) Posted on February 18, 2005 PASDA serves as the the Commonwealth's node on the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), Geospatial One Stop, and the National Biological Information Infrastructure. Pennsylvania's official public access geospatial information clearinghouse, PASDA provides a wealth of data, information, and educational resources that will impress.
MARIS - Mississippi Automated Resource Information System Posted on February 01, 2005 Using MARIS visitors have acess to numerous Mississippi statewide GIS resources including GIS data, news about new Statewide GIS initiatives, information about meetings and events, and the latest aerial photography covering the State.
Minnesota Land Management Information Center Posted on January 20, 2005 The LMIC has been responsible for developing a strategic plan for the Minnesota GIS - Minnesota's Spatial Data Infrastructure. Recent success stories include the acquisition of 2003 orthoimagery for the entire State (cooperatively funded by the state and the National Aerial Imagery Program of the Farm Services Agency) and they made data available at no cost to users. They have also implemented GIS skills as a required element of state K-12 education standard for social studies... how cool is that?
Michigan Center for Geographic Information Posted on January 19, 2005 MCGI offers visitors some very interesting geospatial resources including access to a map gallery, data library, MI Mapper, and information from the Michigan homeland security committee. For geospatial data or anything else GIS related in Michigan this is a fine resource and a must visit.

GfK MACON Announces India Maps Posted on January 17, 2005 GfK MACON's digital maps of all 39 european countries are updated annually and now India is in production. Approximately 26,850 6-digit postcodes areas --as well as 630 districts-- will be available soon, completely attributed with official codes and names.

Landscan Global Ambient population data Posted on January 05, 2005 Landscan has been in the press recently as the data has been used to determine the population of areas affected by the recent Tsunami in South East Asia. The LandScan data comprise a worldwide population database compiled on a 30" X 30" latitude/longitude grid.
