Dear North Line GIS Hello I am Juan. I am looking for a position in GIS, remote sensing, geostatistics, or cartography. I recently received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with specialization in GIS. I have taken 2 courses in GIS and have experience in working with ESRI's ARCGIS software. After graduation, I am looking to acquire a GIS certificate. I was active in the global and sociocultural studies undergraduate club where we discuss topics in sociology, anthropology, and geography. We also get involved in rallies and go to speeches held by scholars and others involved in social studies world. I have worked on an internship with the department of university sustainability in a project where I am trying to inform more students on the carpool program, since parking is always something FIU students complain about, and with high gas prices this can be an alternative and help accomplish the department of reducing greenhouse emissions. During the summer/fall of 2011 I worked on a survey monitoring internship in the Chihuahuan Desert of the U.S., where we worked with Trimble Nomad GPS units, topography maps, and learned the skill of vegetation surveying on national parks in the region. I am interested in working on additional internships with your organization and I would only need to cover my housing and living expenses in the event it is not in the Miami area.
