This position provides technical leadership for the County enterprise GIS. An employee in this classification plans, designs, implements and enhances new and existing GIS web services and desktop applications using accepted systems development methodology. The incumbent identifies requirements and develops and executes strategies for the integration of in-house and purchased systems. The incumbent will provide professional and technical expertise to staff members in the following areas: GIS application design, business analysis, data administration, GIS database management, system administration, and systems integration. This is a highly skilled professional and technical position, requiring considerable independence and latitude for exercising independent judgment within established departmental policies, procedures and objectives. The incumbent may provide lead direction or technical assistance to other department staff as needed. Performance is evaluated through conferences and reports for timeliness, achievement of goals, economics of computer utilization and compliance with department policy and work standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education or equivalent in computer science, information systems, math or a related field, and three years experience in systems analysis or programming; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the work. Experience with ArcGIS suite of products, large RDMS such as MS SQL Server or Oracle is required, as is experience in VB.Net or ASP Net/Background in IT project management and change management.
Compensation
$66,372 - $76,856/ANNUAL
