IT Support/Help Desk Technician
Lompac (Vandernberg AFB), California
Woolpert, Inc., is looking for motivated IT Support/Help Desk personnel to place onsite at Vandenberg AFB, CA. Successful candidate will assist in tasks associated with compliance with 30th Space Communications Squadron, AFSPC, and HQAF computer resources NOTAMs, TCNOs, and other requirements and guidelines. Provide written/email status updates to government employees. Research and develop technical reports as needed by the government for computer hardware/software recommendations, procurement needs, and IT solutions. Provide telephone technical/operational PC support to network users and contractors assigned to 30 CES in areas of operating system, software, directory, server, file storage, LAN access, hardware usage, and corrective actions. Provide in-person technical/operational PC support to network users. Update 30 CES computer inventory database and customer tracking tool as network, personnel, and PC configuration changes occur. Respond to all LAN, network server, and PC system crashes. Ensure LAN communication capabilities with outlying geographically separated 30 CES functional areas. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled data/server backups/restores to ensure LAN file and system backup recovery capability. Assist and process all necessary LAN access application requirements (certifications, access letters, and interim access requests) necessary to add and delete new and existing CES personnel to the AFLAN. Provide technical hardware and software recommendations to support LAN/GIS repair and upgrade. Provide technical support, maintenance for all classified systems, not above Secret classification, within the 30 CES Squadron SIPRNET. Candidate will be a U.S. Citizen and required to obtain a security clearance. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Beneficial if candidate understands the Air Force organizational structure. Successful candidates must perform well with minimal direct supervision and maintain maximum flexibility in an environment of rapid growth and change.
