Provide support to the statistical needs of various departments within the company
- provide advice on sampling method and sample size
- in some projects, decide on sampling method and also perform sampling
- perform statistical/mathematical analysis of data
- develop simple tools to handle basic statistical or other analytical needs, when required
- apply statistical methods for spatial data analysis and quality evaluation
- train other teams within the organization on basic statistical thinking and methods
Qualifications
Skills/Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Statistics
1-3 years experience is preferred; a recent graduate with the right ability will also be considered
Ability to innovate, think out of the box -initial guidance shall be provided by the Senior Statistician
Hands on experience with any statistical tool preferred
Programming knowledge (VBA, C, or C++, etc)
Knowledge/experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) preferred
Good Communications skill – ability to explain statistics in simple terms to non- statisticians
Ability to learn and expand
Note: The nature of work may be such that text book methods may not be directly appropriate, hence out-of-the box thinking, innovation, and an inclination to spatial data are required. Initial guidance and support will be provided by the Senior Statistician.
