ReMetrix is seeking an entry-level Aquatic Field Specialist with GIS skills for a full-time position based in Berkeley, CA.
Primary duties involve using various scientific tools to map invasive aquatic plants for distribution, species, and health in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Approximately one-third of one’s time will be spent in the office helping with data analyses, GIS-based maps, writing reports, etc. Extended hours are periodically required, including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekend days.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Plant Biology, or related. Experience navigating boats in strong currents, tight channels, and choppy conditions. Knowledge of ESRI® ArcGIS is a strong plus. Must be self-motivated, possess endurance to work outdoors in heat and inclement weather, able to work independently and problem-solve. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. U.S. driver’s license required. Drug screening is required due to state contracts.
Compensation
Total comp. is $35K-$50K, DOE. Benefits incl: pd vacation, bonus incentives, health, 401k, & more.
