Join the GIS community at one of the nation’s most spatially advanced Departments of Transportation. The Geographic Services office of WSDOT is looking for a Lead GIS Application Specialist to facilitate the successful application development cycle for a dynamic variety of GIS software applications. This position will work closely with WSDOT staff from many divisions of the agency to develop and support GIS applications. These applications may integrate with other enterprise systems and/or with the enterprise Service Oriented Architecture. Software development will take place within the .NET framework in conjunction with products such as ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS Explorer and ArcPad. The GIS applications have a significant impact on the agency and other multi-agency projects. The incumbent will serve as a key technical expert in developing GIS desktop, server and mobile applications. The incumbent will also serve as an advisor for updating existing GIS applications in various business areas. As a technical lead, the incumbent will direct other team members and ensure products are delivered on time and on budget. As a team lead, the individual will help to recognize and develop skills and abilities of team members in order to assist professional growth.
Qualifications
•Possess a minimum of eighteen months of C# .NET development experience over the past twenty four months.
•Possess a minimum of eighteen months of development experience, over the past twenty four months, with one or more of the following: ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS Explorer, ArcIMS.
•Possess a minimum of thirty six months of software development experience, over the past five years.
•An advanced understanding of Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) and or linear networks of some kind.
•Understanding of UML diagrams and symbols.
•Understanding of SOA and spatial services.
Compensation
$58,944-$77,352 annually
