Citizens Property Insurance Corporation was created by Florida’s legislature in 2002 to serve property owners in high-risk areas and provide much-needed property coverage to Floridians who can’t obtain coverage in the voluntary market. GIS Analyst
Position Summary: This position is for a GIS Analyst, with systems and data expertise, to work with GIS Team to develop and implement an enterprise level/server based geographic information systems and technology for Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (CPIC). The position will be responsible for helping design, develop and maintain an enterprise geodatabase and for developing new GIS applications on an ArcGIS Server platform as well as providing high level GIS analysis and services to internal customers.
Essential Functions:
• Development, testing and documentation of ArcGIS Server based GIS applications and services, such as web/intranet based mapping and geocoding services.
• Help model, develop, and maintain CPIC enterprise geodatabase.
• Utilize GIS software at an expert level to analyze geographic data and deliver results in multiple formats.
• Help create, digitize, and or gather necessary GIS data from public GIS data sources.
• Proactively develop innovative solutions using GIS technology for complex business problems of CPIC departments and promote efficient use and expansion of GIS in support of the company’s business processes and strategic goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Advanced knowledge of ESRI suite of GIS software and technology (ArcInfo, ArcEditor or ArcView) is required.
• Working knowledge of ESRI suite of ArcGIS Server software (ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ArcIMS) is highly preferred.
• Experience with and proficiency in any general-purpose programming language such as C/C++, C#.net, Java, Visual Basic, ASP.net, Python, etc. is required.
• Strong working knowledge of web and map development languages and tools is highly preferred.
• Experience in modeling, implementing and maintaining geodatabases on a GIS server platform and within a mainstream RDBMS environment is highly preferred.
• Solid oral and written communication skills, technical writing skills, and ability to draft and publish reports.
• Strong ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize assignments effectively.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to work individually and in a team environment.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science or related field.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in the GIS industry or in a related area.
• 1 to 3 years working experience with ESRI ArcGIS desktop software suite.
