Job Description
Our client is a small privately-held software company based in Victoria. Their roots are as a custom software development house in the GIS space. They have since become a multi-product company with even revenue ratio of products and services.
Founded in 2000, the company has grown organically and runs without outside investment – this autonomy gives them the freedom to be market driven, and respond more quickly to the needs of prospects and clients. Their technology investment in the last 18 months has put them in a superior position to their competition so the opportunity for a “hunter” is significant. A large potential market to be worked by a small team equals great upside. They have received numerous awards for their overall success, growth and solutions.
Their feature product has changed the way organizations tackle Web-based GIS implementations and has helped spawn a new industry. Their solutions simplify GIS deployment eliminating inefficiencies in the process of building, upgrading, and maintaining applications. Their clients include municipal and state governments, real estate, transportation, and the natural resources sectors. They currently have more than 300 clients.
They are looking to add another solution salesperson to their team. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing the entire sales cycle, from cold calling, to qualifying, to managing the sales cycle and closing the deal.
Qualifications
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identify, qualify and close opportunities
• Manage and grow your existing client base
• Ability to converse intelligently with your clients in regards to their GIS needs and challenges
• Ability to travel to prospect and client sites as required
Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills. The candidate must be able to present information clearly, both orally and written
• A minimum of 3 years of solution selling experience
• Experience in the GIS and/or CAD/CAM software marketplace
• Proven success in meeting sales targets
• Experience in cold-calling, prospecting new opportunities
• Background in selling in to government, transportation, real estate or natural resource sectors is an asset
