Job Description
GIS PROFESSIONAL - Sr. Engineering Associate GIS
Lane County Public Works / Transportation Planning & Traffic Division – GIS.
We live in a community offering short commutes, safe neighborhoods, good schools, a mild climate, and cultural diversity. We serve an area ideally situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains; one that provides a variety of recreational and cultural activities.
Lane County Public Works seeks a skilled professional for its GIS Group.
DUTIES:
-Maintain and improve existing road information databases and applications for the Engineering Division.
-Create custom web-based GIS applications.
-Design, develop, test and deploy custom GIS applications using ArcGIS and related technologies such as ArcIMS, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server and ArcObjects.
-Map production and GIS analysis.
-Advise management on database technology issues.
-Coordinate GIS work activities with county departments and outside agencies. EOE/ADA
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in geography or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Three years of increasingly responsible experience in GIS mapping / maintenance, including one year of lead responsibility.
NOTE: An equivalent combination of experience and training also qualifies applicants for this position.
