A World leader in innovative wireless electronics, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer for our Product Development division.
We are the world’s largest manufacturer of cordless telephones. Our expertise extends into navigation, business telephone communications, two-way radios and many other products.
We are headquartered in the center of the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex, south of the DFW airport. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including a bonus program and 401(k) plan. Relocation is available.
The Position:
The Senior Software Engineer will lead the company’s high quality standards in User Interface, “Best in Class” performance, and will have overall responsibility for the design, development and testing of our GPS Application Software. This position will work closely with our product development team and partner with our engineering team in Japan, successfully integrating all product components. Activities will include algorithm development, simulations, and providing test procedures to confirm that specifications are met.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of GPS technology, and excellent planning, development, and project leadership skills, as they will lead the way through the entire software development life cycle.
Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years experience in GPS navigation development
- Experience in all phases of software development, life cycles, and applying the
Rational Unified Process and SEI-s CMM to application software development
- Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming on embedded microprocessor systems. Development experience with Windows CE, and large scale systems that run under Windows CE; and Microsoft Visual Studio
Some international travel will be required in this position.
Other Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of GPS System technology roadmaps, including Location Based Services and Enhanced Mapping integration
- Proficiency in map/routing algorithm, NMEA standards, graphical user interface design, system testing, and Microsoft Project
